One of the fiercest supporters of the legislation was the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the major DC lobbying outfit for big business. The Chamber even launched a direct attack on Demand Progress a couple of months ago, when we asserted that SOPA and PIPA would foster Internet censorship! Yahoo quit the Chamber during the height of the SOPA/PIPA fight, but Google -- which did amazing work to help defeat the censorship bills -- is still a member.
