Hold Alito accountable, pass a SCOTUS ethics act!

    Petition to Congress:
Pass the Supreme Court Ethics, Recusal and Transparency Act.

Should a Supreme Court Justice really be accepting $900 concert tickets from a German aristocrat who supports far-right politicians? The answer is no.

Yet, that’s what Samuel Alito did. He also stayed at the aristocrat’s castle in Germany. The gifts reveal how Alito and his wife are “deeply entrenched in an international rightwing movement that is seeking to advance conservative Catholic policies.”1

This is just the latest Alito scandal. He’s accepted free undisclosed trips from GOP mega-donors and conservative legal groups. He failed to recuse himself in the Trump immunity case even though a Stop the Steal style flag was flying above his house during critical 2020 election cases.2 Congress must step in immediately to pass an enforceable, binding code of ethics to stop the corruption on SCOTUS.

Sign the petition: Congress must pass a SCOTUS ethics act to hold Samuel Alito and other right-wing justices accountable!

It shouldn’t be controversial that when the highest court in the land rules on a case, decisions should be made WITHOUT the influence of big donors and powerful friends whispering in the ears of justices.

But we’ve seen how the far-right legal movement, GOP mega-donors, and webs of dark conservative money networks are influencing the Court — and how the justices themselves are entrenched in right-wing extremism.

Congress needs to pass legislation to ensure strict ethical standards are upheld on the Court.
