Tell President Biden to direct Medicare to lower drug costs and fight Big Pharma's corporate greed!

    Petition to President Biden:
We urge you to fight Big Pharma’s greed by directing Medicare to lower prescription drug prices.

This is Big Pharma’s latest bait and switch: Under public pressure over the outrageous prices of insulin, pharma corporation Novo Nordisk announced that it would significantly lower the price of Levemir (one of its insulin products). But before the price cut went into effect, Novo Nordisk discontinued Levemir in the United States. And Novo Nordisk’s alternative to Levemir costs THREE times as much as Levemir.1

This is all part of the Big Pharma corporate greed that raises prices on prescriptions and throws lawsuits at the government in response to President Biden’s announcement that Medicare would lower the price of just ten prescription drugs. Medicare and President Biden must stand firm against Big Pharma greed!

Sign the petition: President Biden has a chance to put a stop to Big Pharma’s greed. Tell President Biden and Medicare to stand up against Big Pharma and lower the costs of medications!

Giving Medicare the ability to negotiate lower drug prices makes sense for so many reasons — and that’s why Democrats and President Biden passed the reform in the Inflation Reduction Act. Cost should not be an obstacle to getting the medication people need, especially when we’re talking about medicine for conditions like cancer, diabetes, and kidney disease. Unsurprisingly, an overwhelming majority of Americans want lower prescription costs.2

But, of course, when Medicare and President Biden went ahead and lowered the cost of just 10 prescription drugs, Big Pharma sued Medicare AND jacked up the cost of over 500 prescription drugs.3 Drug companies want to continue padding rich executive bonuses and pushing its stock price as high as possible.

But we need the government to hold strong against Big Pharma greed, because Novo Nordisk’s price cut bait and switch scheme is just another example of how Big Pharma will do anything to avoid profit losses — even if it means patients have to pay more money for life-saving medications. These corporations are in an all-out, stop-at-nothing campaign to protect their profits over the health of Americans. We can’t let them win.

Tell President Biden: Lower drug costs and stop Big Pharma!
