Block Paramount's Trump-backed takeover at Warner Brothers, CNN!
Petition to Congress:
We urge you to block Paramount's deal to buy Warner Brothers. The merger violates antitrust laws, would hurt consumers and artists, and poses serious ethical concerns.
Trump and his allies have paved the way for Paramount's $111 billion deal to take over Warner Brothers, which owns CNN.1 David Ellison, head of Paramount, told the Trump admin that he'll bring "sweeping changes" to CNN, a frequent target of Trump’s anti-media vitriol.2
Pete Hegseth sneered at CNN’s coverage of the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran recently, calling it "fake news" and saying, "The sooner David Ellison takes over that network, the better."3
Paramount's mega-deal took a giant step forward last week when it secured $24 billion from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE to finance the deal.4 Congress must stop this dangerous, Trump-serving media monopoly.

When news hit of the $24 billion in Gulf state funding behind the deal, Paramount's stock jumped 11% in just one day.5 This mega-merger is great for rich executives and right-wing billionaires, but terrible for workers, consumers, artists, and the free press.
Senator Elizabeth Warren called the proposed mega-merger an "antitrust disaster."6
Paramount’s CBS has already installed unqualified right-wing figures at the top of its news properties. Now, the same thing could happen at CNN.
The mounting pro-Trump media takeover is a key part of the administration’s authoritarian power grab. Congress must step in as the Trump admin tries to push this deal through.
