Sign the petition: Impeach AG Barr

    Petition to Congress:
We urge you and your colleagues to impeach Attorney General Bill Barr this week.

It's time to impeach Attorney General Bill Barr -- and there's not a moment to lose.

Barr has made a career out of undermining our democracy. Now he is ramping up efforts to help Donald Trump undermine the upcoming elections and invalidate the votes of millions of Americans.

There are plenty of reasons to impeach Barr. One of the most urgent: impeachment could also help derail the process of confirming Trump's Supreme Court nominee. Congress won't act without a massive public outcry. Can you help by sending a message to your representatives?

Sign the petition: Tell Congress to save the Supreme Court and impeach Attorney General Barr!

If the House of Representatives impeaches Barr before October 23 (this Friday), the Senate would have two options. One, they would have to hold a trial, eating up several days of time and further delaying the vote to confirm Amy Coney Barrett.

Two, McConnell could "go nuclear" and make major changes to Senate rules, making it easier to build support among other Senators to pass future reforms of Senate procedure and rebalance and depoliticize the federal judiciary.

Just yesterday we learned once more why it's important to stop the confirmation of Trump's SCOTUS nominee. The Supreme Court split 4-4 on a case making it easier to vote in Pennsylvania.1 If Amy Coney Barrett were on the court, she'd have sided with the other conservatives and issued a 5-4 ruling making it harder to vote in the November election. We have to stop this confirmation process.

Meanwhile, career prosecutors are speaking out against Barr's misrule. Last week Phillip Halpern, a federal prosecutor in San Diego, became the third to resign his position and cited political meddling by Attorney General Barr as the reason.

Halpern wrote: "Barr overruled career prosecutors in order to assist the president's associates and/or friends, who potentially harbor incriminating information. This career bureaucrat seems determined to turn our democracy into an autocracy."2

More than 1,600 former DOJ lawyers agreed, signing a letter blaming Barr for using the DOJ to help Trump win re-election.3

The best time for Congress to impeach Barr was months ago. But the second-best time is now. If Congress waits, it may be too late for our democracy and our Supreme Court. Will you help push Congress to act now?
