    Petition to Congress:
We demand you pass Social Security 2100 and protect Social Security for generations to come!

Republicans in Congress are feeling so bold right now they aren't even hiding the fact that they want to end Social Security as we know it.1

Senator Rick Scott endorsed a Republican agenda that would make all laws sunset after 5 years, including Social Security and Medicare. But Democrats in Congress aren't just taking this lying down. House Rep. John Larson authored a bill called Social Security 2100 that would increase benefits and ensure that Social Security will remain strong for future generations.

With the midterms coming up there's no time to waste. We need to pass Social Security 2100 now!

Our social safety net is not guaranteed. For years Republicans have been circling Social Security like sharks, slowly chipping and biting away at it. George W. Bush proposed a partial privatization of Social Security in 2005 -- but was stopped by a massive public outcry.

If Republicans get their way, elderly Americans – our parents, neighbors, co-workers, and ourselves – will be thrown out to the wolves instead of being able to retire with dignity.

Social Security is in a strong position, but Americans need even more help. The Social Security 2100 Act would expand benefits and help protect against inflation, something clearly needed in a time of rising costs.

It's crucial that Democrats in Congress act now, before the midterms, to pass Social Security 2100 and save Social Security.
