Senator Wyden: Thank You For Fighting Internet Censorship

More than 300,000 Americans have signed our petition opposing the "Internet Blacklist Bill" -- the Combating Online Infringement and Counterfeits Act (COICA).   (Click here to sign the original petition and read more about the bill.)  The bill would give the government the power to force Internet service providers to block your access to certain sites.  It's shockingly similar to what goes on in places like China and Iran -- and it's the kind of thing that's just not supposed to happen here.

We delivered the petition to the Senate's most powerful players, and one bold Senator -- Oregon's Ron Wyden -- made it clear that he's on our side: He put what's known as a hold on the bill, blocking it from passage this session.

But the big business lobby is putting lots of pressure on him to back down -- the bill will almost certainly be taken up anew when the Senate reconvenes, and we need him and other Senators to stand strong.

As the New Year begins and the new Congress is sworn in, will you sign on to our message of thanks to Ron Wyden, and ask him to keep fighting through next session?

MESSAGE TO SENATOR WYDEN:  We write with a simple message of thanks, for your bold stand against Internet censorship and the Combating Online Infringement and Counterfeits Act.

We're well aware that the big business lobby is pressuring you to back down:  We hope that you'll keep fighting, and want you to know that we'll be proud to stand with you as you do.

Just add your name at right and we'll deliver your note to Senator Wyden.
