Stop dangerous billionaire-funded AI data centers! Support Bernie and AOC’s AI Data Center Moratorium Act
Petition to Congress:
We urge you to support the AI Data Center Moratorium Act.
In response to widespread outrage over AI data centers, the Trump administration is pushing a conspiracy theory that the protests are a foreign plot to "attack the U.S."1
First, billionaire Kevin O'Leary accused "nefarious" foreign actors of driving what is, in truth, very real, widespread public opposition to his proposed 40,000 acre data center in Utah.2 Trump's interior secretary fueled the propaganda when he agreed with O'Leary and called the "foreign-directed" actions an "attack."3
Trump's oligarchy is doing everything it can to protect giant, energy-sucking AI data centers and their profits. Senator Bernie Sanders and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are trying to protect people and the environment with legislation to ban new data centers.4
Sign the petition: End data center construction! Support Sanders and AOC’s AI Data Center Moratorium Act.
O'Leary's Utah data center would consume twice the energy as the entire state currently does.5 Meta is planning to build a $200 billion data center in Louisiana that will use as much energy as New York City.6
There is widespread, local, bipartisan opposition to data centers because they will raise energy prices, threaten the electrical grid, suck up precious water resources, and severely damage the environment.
Polls show that 71% of Americans oppose building data centers in their communities.7 Americans reject billionaires’ dangerous AI data center money grab.
Sign the petition: Congress must fight the Trump administration's lies and save communities from a data center takeover!
