Pass a Supreme Court Ethics Act now. Hold Alito and Thomas accountable!
Petition to Congress:
Pass the Supreme Court Ethics, Recusal and Transparency Act.
With Trump’s second term set to begin in two months, Samuel Alito says he plans to remain on the Court.1 It’s a critical time for Congress to step in and force SCOTUS justices to follow ethical standards.
The corruption uncovered over the last few years involving Alito, Clarence Thomas, John Roberts, and other conservative justices has been shocking. Congress must pass a binding, enforceable code of ethics to rid the Supreme Court of this corruption!
Sign the petition: Tell Congress to pass a SCOTUS ethics act NOW. Hold the right-wing justices on the Court accountable!
Alito accepted free undisclosed trips from GOP mega-donors, conservative legal groups, and a German aristocrat who supports far-right politicians.2 He failed to recuse himself in the Trump immunity case even though a Stop the Steal style flag was flying above his house during critical 2020 election cases.3
Clarence Thomas is embroiled in tens of different ethics scandals including undisclosed trips to Russia and Indonesia paid for by GOP billionaire mega-donor Harlan Crow,4 serious conflicts of interest in cases that have benefited corporations and Trump, and a slew of mysterious connections to right-wing networks.
All of the other conservative justices have also been caught up in scandals that call into serious question their independence and ethical standing on the court. Yet none of them — Thomas, Alito, Roberts, Gorsuch, Barrett, Kavanaugh — have been held accountable.
Congress must take the action necessary to stop corruption and preserve the fairness and independence of SCOTUS.
Add your name: Congress has sat on the sidelines long enough. Hold the right-wing justices on the Supreme Court accountable!
