    Protect access to birth control!

    Petition to President Biden and Congress:
    We urge you to use the full extent of your powers to protect abortion rights and access to birth control in America.

    The assault on abortion rights and reproductive healthcare did not end with the extreme, conservative Supreme Court — far from it.

    Republican governors and state lawmakers have implemented restrictive abortion measures and sought criminal punishment for women seeking abortion care.

    Leonard Leo, the primary architect of the right-wing takeover of the Supreme Court, has a network of dark money spending millions to further restrict abortion rights in state elections and in the courts.1

    And the far-right hate group, The Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), that helped lead the lawsuit that got SCOTUS to overturn Roe v. Wade is leading a lawsuit to try to end access to birth control.2 President Biden and Congress must take immediate steps to protect abortion rights and access to birth control.

    The ADF has a history of successfully litigating Supreme Court cases that roll back reproductive freedoms. Their recent victory in Texas, which led to the unprecedented judicial suspension of a long-standing FDA approval for mifepristone (a pill used in half of all abortions in America),3 makes it clear that the ADF wants a total abortion ban.

    Now, the ADF is targeting birth control, even going so far as to say, “It may be that the day will come when people say the birth-control pill was a mistake.”4

    These right-wing attacks on reproductive rights are serious — Leonard Leo, Trump’s judges, and conservative groups have shown just how far they can go to roll back abortion rights and reproductive healthcare access. President Biden and Congress must act now to protect reproductive health in America.
