Trump is plotting an executive order to declare a national emergency that would allow him to take sweeping control over the 2026 midterm elections — and Trumpworld is ready.¹

Steve Bannon said ICE should surround the polls in November.² Trump is trying to seize state voter data and send election deniers to rig elections nationwide.³ And Trump’s emergency order would ban mail-in voting, eliminate key voter registration methods, purge voter rolls, and enforce other extreme voter suppression policies.⁴

Senate Democrats are organizing a joint resolution that could thwart this authoritarian executive order. Congress must move quickly to pass it before it’s too late.

Republicans are using anti-immigrant conspiracy theories about mass “noncitizen voting” and outright lies about the 2020 election to try to justify their extreme voter suppression.

Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker said, “Donald Trump’s plan to steal the 2026 midterm elections is already underway.”⁵

Election rigging is a top priority of the Trump administration. Congress must act immediately, and loudly, to prevent the end of free and fair elections in America.
