Call for a ceasefire in Israel and Gaza!
Petition to Congress and the White House:
We condemn all violence against civilians by Hamas and the Israeli military. In this critical moment, we believe it is imperative that U.S. policymakers take measures to immediately de-escalate the violence to prevent the further loss of civilian life. We urge Congress and the Administration to:
- Publicly call for a ceasefire to prevent the further loss of life;
- Prioritize the protection of all civilians, including by urgently securing the entrance of humanitarian aid into Gaza and working to secure the release of hostages and prisoners; and
- Urge all parties to fully respect international humanitarian law.

As families in Gaza race against the clock to flee their homes, they face a literal barrier. They will not be able to cross the border into Israel or Egypt. Which means in no uncertain terms, these families cannot escape the escalating violence.
The time to hold true to values of peace, non-violence, and respect for human life is now. Families in Gaza are already facing cuts to food, electricity, and humanitarian aid at the hands of the Israeli government. Hamas's attack on Israel was deplorable, yet the ongoing response has been disproportionate and there is no clear end in sight. We must speak up and call for a ceasefire to protect as many civilian lives as possible.
