Permanent ceasefire now! Stop sending American made bombs to Israel!
Petition to Congress:
We urge you to call on President Biden to broker an immediate, permanent ceasefire, and stop sending offensive military support to Israel.
At least 274 Palestinians were killed in an Israeli military raid to rescue four hostages in Gaza.1 This comes after the Israeli military killed dozens of people in the bombing of a UN school and dozens of people before that in airstrikes of a tent camp of displaced Palestinians in Rafah.
The killing of Palestinians in Gaza continues because of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s refusal to work towards peace. Instead of engaging with international partners to broker a diplomatic peace deal, he has been actively opposing a ceasefire.
Yet, the United States continues sending Israel more bombs. Congressional leaders invited Netanyahu to give a speech in front of the House and Senate. Our leaders can only help end this conflict by opposing Netanyahu’s military onslaught on the Palestinians people.

Senator Bernie Sanders said it’s a terrible idea to invite Netanyahu to speak in Congress and that he would NOT attend the speech.2 Other Democratic lawmakers have said they will not attend either. Inviting Netanyahu to speak is a cynical ploy led by Republicans but supported by Democratic leaders. The work toward a ceasefire will not be bolstered by raising up Netanyahu, who is blocking a peace deal.
Hamas's attacks beginning on October 7 must be condemned and we support the safe return of all hostages to their families, but Israel's response has been disproportionate and taken an extraordinary civilian toll — all while America has supplied the bombs and funding Israel has used to kill tens of thousands of Palestinians. The killing of 274 Palestinians in a hostage raid happened while a negotiated, diplomatic peace option that includes the release of all hostages was available. It’s the latest devastating reason the United States must stop providing bombs and funding support to the Israeli military.
