Ceasefire Now! Congress must save lives and send desperately needed aid to Gaza.

    Petition to Congress:
We urge you to publicly support calls for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. Please support the the Ceasefire Now Resolution in the U.S. House and call for an end to violence in Israel and Gaza. This is the path towards diplomatic solutions and saving lives.

Hamas's attack on Israel was deplorable, yet the ongoing response has been disproportionate and there is no clear end in sight. Israel’s retaliation against Palestinians for the Hamas attack inside Israel has killed over 5,000 people in Gaza since October 7th.1

Women and children have made up 62 percent of the people killed. One child is killed every 15 minutes in Gaza.2 More than 15,000 people have been injured in Gaza since October 7th. Doctors in Gaza are currently operating on patients without anesthesia after the hospital bombing.

The violence is ratcheting up, not calming down. That’s why Congress and President Biden must call for an immediate end to violence now in order to prevent more atrocities and start brokering diplomatic solutions.

At least 20 House Democrats including James McGovern, Cori Bush, Betty McCollum, Pramila Jayapal, and Rashida Tlaib are supporting the urgent call for a ceasefire to protect civilian life. Many of them are supporting the Ceasefire Now Resolution for the immediate de-escalation of violence and the delivery of humanitarian aid to the 2.2 million people suffering in Gaza.3

Sign the petition: Congress must protect civilian lives and support an immediate ceasefire now!

It’s been over two weeks since Israel cut off food, electricity, and critical humanitarian aid to Gaza. Now, there’s a desperate fuel shortage that would leave Palestinians in Gaza without water or functioning hospitals.4

Congress cannot wait another day to take the position of ceasefire and humanitarian aid.

Speaking on the ceasefire resolution, Rep. Bush said, “The United States bears a unique responsibility to exhaust every diplomatic tool at our disposal to prevent mass atrocities and save lives. We can’t bomb our way to peace, equality, and freedom. With thousands of lives lost and millions more at stake, we need a ceasefire now.”5

Congress and President Biden must use the power of the United States to take on the responsibility of peace. The time is now for our representatives and senators to back a ceasefire without delay!

Contact your U.S. Representative and Senators today urging them to support a ceasefire immediately.
