    Defend Ilhan Omar from Trump's politically-motivated investigation!

    Petition to Congress:
    We urge you to stop the federal government’s politically-motivated investigation of Rep. Ilhan Omar. We urge you to call on the White House to end the persecution of people and organizations for exercising their First Amendment rights to protest, dissent and free speech.

    Trump called Rep. Ilhan Omar a "terrible" and "totally crooked" person after the Department of Homeland Security sent ICE agents to raid her home last week.1 The Trump administration is baselessly trying to strip Omar of her citizenship and deport her.2

    Former President Barack Obama called the raid "appalling."3 House Democratic leaders labeled Trump's escalation a "rogue abuse of power."4

    Trump has leveled vile, racist attacks against Omar for years. His ICE terror campaign in Minneapolis and anti-immigrant vitriol against Somali-Americans have trained MAGA hatred on Omar. Congress must put an end to this targeted authoritarian attack.

    Trump continued to attack Omar, saying, "She comes in from a country without laws, without police, without military, where all they do is shoot each other, and she comes into our country" as the crowd at his event chanted "deport."5 This is part of a government-wide effort to weaponize law enforcement in order to silence and punish dissent in America.

    Even some officials within ICE are calling Trump's investigation "politically-motivated" and part of a string of panic moves related to the midterms.6

    In response to the raid, Rep. Omar said, "Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns."7

    Congress must stop Trump's MAGA administration from going after Omar and other political opponents.
