Stop Trump’s violent ICE invasions
Petition to Congress:
We urge you to end mass deportations, violent ICE raids, and the authoritarian tactics of ICE’s masked agents. We urge you to do everything in your power to investigate and shut down vile, inhumane immigrant detention centers, including the one called “Alligator Alcatraz.”
Masked, armed ICE agents descended on lower Manhattan earlier this week — marching down the streets alongside military-style vehicles.1 This is the latest expansion in ICE’s nationwide terror campaign of mass arrests, violence, and the detention of immigrants in abusive prisons.
New York Governor Kathy Hochul said that while Trump claims to be stopping crime, “his agents used batons and pepper spray on street vendors and bystanders on Canal Street. You don’t make New York safer by attacking New Yorkers.”2 Trump is turning cities into warzones. And ICE is preparing for further escalation, increasing its spending on weapons by a whopping 700%.3
ICE violence will continue to spread beyond LA, Chicago, Portland, and New York City and destroy families and communities across the country. We need our leaders in Congress to end these ICE invasions now!

An immigrant advocacy organization in New York called the raid a “horrifying display of federal overreach and authoritarian tactics.”4
In Chicago, ICE continues its violent campaign, turning areas near elementary schools into militarized areas full of tear gas, separating families at birthday parties, and brutalizing protesters.5,6
The White House will only continue to escalate its deportation dragnet and authoritarian invasions. Congress must stop this horrific, illegal siege on the people now.
