The Supreme Court followed through on their threat and just overturned Roe v. Wade, eliminate abortion rights for millions of Americans. That's horrific. And Clarence Thomas signaled they plan to go even further.
In his own concurring opinion, Thomas said the Court should "reconsider" rulings that made birth control legal, protected marriage equality, and decriminalized homosexual sex.1
We have to fight back NOW. We must show this Supreme Court there are consequences to extremism, prevent them from doing any more damage, and restore abortion rights for everyone.
Congress has the power to add seats to the Supreme Court and fix a broken institution that has been captured by the extremist far-right. There's no time to lose. Will you add your name in this urgent moment?

This is all happening because the far right has succeeded in its decades-long campaign to secure a supermajority on the Supreme Court. Six out of nine Supreme Court justices have ties to the Federalist Society, a cabal of right-wing jurists backed by corporate funders such as the Koch Brothers.
The result is an extremist Supreme Court that is imposing a radical agenda on the country with stunning speed. Earlier the Supreme Court eviscerated gun control, eroded church-state separation, and undermined the Miranda ruling.
Congress should have acted in May when the draft decision by Justice Samuel Alito, which stated Roe v. Wade would be overturned. Had Congress voted to expand the Supreme Court then, we might have avoided this catastrophe. Congress did not act. And we see the consequences. We cannot fail again.
Congress can pass legislation to rebalance the Supreme Court now, before the November election. It's constitutional, it's happened before, and it's the only way to stop the radical right takeover of our courts and our country!
Sign the petition: Urge Congress to expand the Supreme Court and save our basic rights!
