    Stop Flock from fueling Trump's authoritarian mass surveillance

    Petition to the U.S. Senate:
    We urge you to ban Flock, Axon, and other companies' network of invasive ALPR surveillance cameras. Law enforcement are using Flock's cameras to infringe on privacy rights, discriminate, and target people based on First Amendment protected speech and protest. We ask you to hold CEOs accountable in the Crime and Counterterrorism subcommittee hearing this week.

    A bipartisan group of lawmakers is bringing the CEOs of Flock, Axon, and other surveillance companies in for a Senate hearing TOMORROW.1 Why? To force executives to answer questions on how their tech is violating the privacy rights of Americans.

    Flock and Axon set up an insidious network of surveillance cameras across the country feeding footage into thousands of police departments. Data from the automatic license plate reader (ALPR) cameras are also ending up in the hands of ICE to aid Trump's vicious mass deportations.2

    There's a documented history of law enforcement using Flock cameras to stalk people, track protesters, discriminate against people, and hunt down innocent people.3 With national opposition growing to ALPRs, Congress must ban these invasive cameras!

    Senator Dick Durbin, the lead Democrat on the Senate subcommittee that will question the surveillance CEOs, said, "Incidents of officers misusing Flock for personal reasons, erroneous searches leading to wrongful stops and/or arrests, and warrantless access to movement records have raised privacy, civil liberty, and accountability concerns."4

    The data collected by Flock and similar cameras can fully track your daily travel and whereabouts: where you go to work, meet friends and family, get health care, and more.5

    If ICE or other agencies in the Trump administration want to track and hunt someone down, it's a lot easier with access to Flock's network.

    Our lawmakers must protect our privacy rights, and must step up tomorrow to hold surveillance camera executives accountable.
