Abolish ICE, shut down DHS prisons, and hold the Trump admin accountable for ICE violence!

    Petition to Congress:
We urge you to abolish ICE, investigate and shut down abusive ICE detention centers, and end DHS detention of children. We urge you to hold ICE accountable for breaking the law and committing violence across the country, and ensure ICE, DHS, and other federal officials are held accountable for shooting and killing people, including Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

60 people have died in ICE custody under Donald Trump and Stephen Miller since January 2025.1

In just the last month, at least three people died in ICE prisons where systemic abuse and inhumane living conditions are the norm. Two people died after medical emergencies, one of whom was being held despite being a lawful permanent resident. Another man died by apparent suicide. These three men are dead because of Trump and Miller's horrific mass deportations regime.2,3,4

Communities across California report that ICE arrests are surging in the state right before the midterms.5 Lawmakers like Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Pramila Jayapal are calling to break up Trump's far-right security forces at ICE.6,7

"This is just about the worst surge of ICE activity we have seen," said one immigrant rights advocate in California. ICE is clearing fields of workers, loitering outside of an election office, and pursuing people in their cars as their patrols grow across the state.8

Multiple lawsuits and human rights organizations have documented the terrible conditions in ICE detention centers: severe medical neglect, officer violence and coercive threats against detainees, inadequate and rancid food, unsanitary living conditions, and violations of ICE's own policies and international human rights treaties.9,10

Local authorities in Minnesota are trying to hold federal agents accountable for the murder of Alex Pretti and Renee Good, but federal authorities are refusing to cooperate.11

Congress must act to undo the horrors of mass deportations.
