Keep ICE and military troops away from the polls NOW!

    Petition to Congress:
We urge you to speak out against the White House deploying ICE and military troops to polling places. It is a voter intimidation tactic that threatens our right to vote and free and fair democratic elections. We urge you to pass the Protect Our Polls Act and the Safe Access to Polls Act to double down on the legal framework that prohibits the president from sending armed federal agents and military forces to polling places.

MAGA media personality and former Trump adviser, Steve Bannon, called for ICE to "surround the polls" on Election Day.1

Trump said earlier this year that he's willing to send ICE and National Guard troops to polling places.2 Markwayne Mullin, head of the Department of Homeland Security, wouldn't rule out ICE from showing up to voting locations to address so-called "threats."3 The White House should unequivocally rule out such a clearly illegal act of voter intimidation, but it won't because it wants to spread fear before the midterms.4

Congress must speak out now against sending ICE and troops to the polls, then pass legislation to protect the vote from armed, authoritarian scare tactics.

Democratic Senators have introduced two pieces of legislation that double down on prohibiting armed military and federal agents from terrorizing polling places: the Protect Our Polls Act and the Safe Access to the Polls Act.5,6

"President Trump is pulling every lever he has to weaponize the federal government and undermine our elections — and that includes him threatening to send armed federal agents to our polling places," said Senator Tammy Baldwin, sponsor of the Safe Access to the Polls Act.7

Trump fired independent election monitors, installed election deniers in key administration positions, threatened criminal charges against states who don't follow his anti-democratic election orders, and launched an all-out attack on mail voting — moves that present direct threats to voting on November 3rd.8,9

Under Trump and Stephen Miller's mass deportations policy, ICE continues spreading violence and fear through our communities. These far-right security forces don't belong at polling places.

Congress must urgently call for an end to Trump’s strongman voter suppression.

Sign the petition: Call to keep ICE and troops away from the polls, and pass two key bills to ban the use of federal law enforcement for voter intimidation at voting locations!
