    Block Trump's attacks on the First Amendment and media freedom. Impeach Brendan Carr!

    Petition to the U.S. House:
    We urge you to impeach Brendan Carr in order to protect the First Amendment and media freedom in the United States.

    Jimmy Kimmel said that Trump's Federal Communications Commission (FCC) threatened Kimmel and ABC yet again, stopping the late night host from airing an interview with Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico.1

    Brendan Carr, Trump's FCC head and "attack dog," has been on a crusade against Kimmel, ABC, The View, and Disney — all to stop media coverage unflattering to the White House.2,3 Trump has called for Kimmel, and other comedians, to be fired. Carr has intimidated news agencies that report on the Iran war in a way that Trump doesn’t like.4

    This is the Trump-Carr playbook: trample on the First Amendment, chill dissent, and force media companies to get in line behind the MAGA agenda. Congress must combat Trump's open war on free speech and hold this administration accountable!

    When Trump and Carr first came after Kimmel last year for a joke they didn't like, Carr suggested ABC should take the comedian off the air and said, "We can do this the easy way or the hard way."5 It's politically-motivated, unconstitutional, and an abuse of power.

    Kimmel, Stephen Colbert, Seth Meyers, Trevor Noah, Kristen Welker, CNN, ABC, and CBS (before Trump's friends at Paramount took over) have all been the targets of the White House's attacks.

    Carr is abusing his role at the FCC and infringing on the First Amendment. The House must protect the public interest and rule of law at the FCC.
