Impeach Pete Hegseth and block barbaric execution livestreams
Petition to the U.S. House:
We urge you to impeach Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and speak out to stop live-streamed executions.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth had a heinous, barbaric plan to livestream an execution by firing squad.
The United Nations said televising the execution would "breach the absolute prohibition of torture."1 Even some in Trump's White House expressed concerns about the livestream.2
Hegseth already faces a long list of impeachment charges for leading an illegal war on Iran and the U.S. military's targeting of civilians — including the bombing of a girls' school on the first day of the war.3,4 He abused his powers to help Trump pursue political enemies and gave "kill everybody" orders on extrajudicial boat strikes in the Caribbean.5 Congress must hold Hegseth accountable.

Early on in the war on Iran, Hegseth said, "We will keep pushing, keep advancing, no quarter, no mercy for our enemies" — a clear call to commit war crimes and violate international law.6
Hegseth's critics include Republican Rep. Thomas Massie, who said Hegseth has broken the law and "must be held accountable."7
Articles of impeachment in the House also accuse Hegseth of mishandling sensitive military information and obstructing Congressional oversight. Hegseth's proposal for public military executions must call the House to bipartisan action immediately.
