Pass a war powers resolution to stop Trump's lawless war on Iran NOW!
Petition to Congress:
We urge you to vote for war powers resolutions to end the war on Iran, and to reject all additional funding for the war. This horrific war is illegal and senseless.
Trump threatened Iran with yet another ultimatum: Meet his demands or the White House will order strikes on every bridge and power plant in the country. "A whole civilization will die tonight," Trump said. Iran would be "living in hell," he wrote on Truth Social.1,2
Legal experts and Democratic lawmakers have said such wholesale attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure would amount to war crimes.3
After Trump's reckless ultimatum, Senator Bernie Sanders said, "These are the ravings of a dangerous and mentally unbalanced individual. Congress has got to act NOW. End this war."4 There are war powers resolutions pending in the House and Senate, and our lawmakers must finally assert their authority over Trump.
Sign the petition: Tell Congress to pass a war powers resolution NOW! End Trump's criminal war immediately.
"If you target civilian infrastructure for the purposes the president was talking about, it clearly is a war crime," Senator Chris Van Hollen said.5
Trump's war of aggression has only grown more horrific over the past weeks. The White House has dumped billions of dollars into bombing a country that posed no threat to the United States.
The U.S. and Israel have killed thousands of civilians in Iran, and injured thousands more, while displacing millions from their homes. They have leveled universities and educational institutions throughout Iran, including Tehran University.6
Congress has so far refused to use its constitutional powers to end Trump's war. With Trump's erratic behavior and genocidal threats, our lawmakers must act immediately.
