Demand Progress

Israel's National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir recently said that Israeli forces should "kill 30 - 40" Palestinians in Gaza every day. In reference to Palestinians, he said, "They are not people."¹

These horrific statements come as the U.S. government continues its unwavering financial and weapons support for Israel's genocidal violence in Gaza and Lebanon. Congress is even close to passing an alarming U.S.-Israeli military policy attached to must-pass defense legislation.

The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) measure calls for the U.S. and Israel to co-produce weapons, coordinate AI tech for war, and meld together into a single military-industrial complex.² According to a new Demand Progress poll, 61% of voters OPPOSE this policy.³ Congress must listen to the people and remove this measure from the NDAA.

The Demand Progress poll found that a majority of voters, including 78% of Democrats and 73% of independents, oppose giving Israeli military companies special access to U.S. military systems, tech, and supply chains.⁴

"It is the height of absurdity that Congress is even considering a proposal to become more entangled with the Israeli military and use our tax dollars to subsidize their weapons companies," said the IMEU Policy Project.⁵

It's time for Congress to listen to the American people for once, and not the same political voices who always want to cut Israel a blank check.
