Oppose the shadowy expansion of U.S.-Israeli military cooperation!

    Petition to Congress:
We urge you to oppose the "United States-Israel Defense Technology Cooperation Initiative" in the National Defense Authorization Act.

The U.S. should be ending its military support for Israel as it commits genocidal violence in Gaza and Lebanon. Congress should not be deepening this military relationship, especially not in a way that removes public accountability from U.S. military aid to Israel. This measure would call for the U.S. and Israel to co-produce weapons, coordinate AI technology for military purposes, meld together the U.S.-Israeli military-industrial complex, and so much more.

House and Senate committees advanced legislation that would massively expand U.S.-Israeli military cooperation.1

A provision of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) calls for the U.S. and Israel to co-produce weapons, coordinate AI tech for war, and meld together the U.S.-Israeli military-industrial complex. It would also eliminate any oversight, hiding U.S. funding, weapons, and intelligence support for Israel out of public view.2,3

Rep. Ro Khanna introduced an amendment to remove this provision but members of both parties voted it down in the House Armed Services Committee.4 We won't stand for this extreme proposal to deepen U.S. complicity with Israel's horrific wars and genocidal violence.

The "United States-Israel Defense Technology Cooperation Initiative" in the NDAA is a shadowy attempt to codify unconditional military support for Israel. It would create a deeply intertwined military relationship that shares in weapons, surveillance, data, and research with no transparency.

Senator Bernie Sanders said Congress is, "Burying a provision in the defense bill that would give Israel more military integration than any NATO ally."5

As Congress advances this legislation, we must show our deep opposition to this expansive, secretive cooperation with the Israeli military.
