Don't let Trump pack the courts — oppose the JUDGES Act now!
Petition to Congress:
We urge you to oppose the JUDGES Act.
“I don’t know,” Trump said recently when asked if he needs to follow the Constitution in deportation cases.1 The White House has caused a constitutional crisis by refusing to comply with federal court orders and calling for the removal of any judges who rule against Trump.
Republicans in Congress are supporting Trump by pushing the JUDGES Act, which would create new judgeships that the White House can fill with extreme right-wing Trump loyalists. We must let our lawmakers know that a Trump expansion of the federal courts would be a disaster for our democracy, which is already facing an emergency under this administration.

Trump is relentlessly smearing judges who dare try to hold him accountable. He’s ignoring orders from lower federal courts AND the Supreme Court. The JUDGES Act would give Trump even more power over the judiciary branch, allowing him to install unqualified ideological allies, evade accountability, and shape laws in our country for decades to come.
“As Trump and his lawless Administration demand judges be impeached for the crime of upholding the Constitution against them, it would be unconscionable to reward the Republican party’s constant betrayals of the Constitution,” said Rep. Jamie Raskin about the GOP effort to push this extreme legislation.2
Congress must defend democracy and the rule of law from Trump’s attacks and refuse to hand Trump power to install more judges.
