Despite a so-called "ceasefire" and ongoing peace negotiations, Israel is dramatically escalating its invasion of southern Lebanon.¹

Israel's genocidal violence could even sabotage U.S. peace efforts with Iran, as Iranian officials put a pause on negotiations due to Israel's continued strikes in Lebanon.² Israel's attacks in Beirut and southern Lebanon have killed over 3,000 people and razed entire villages.

A vote this week could end U.S. military support for Israel's aggression and occupation in Lebanon.³ Our lawmakers must stop providing Israel funding and weapons for this killing and destruction.

Israel ordered thousands more people in southern Lebanon to flee their homes over the weekend as Israel expanded its ground invasion.⁴

Rep. Rashida Tlaib's war powers resolution would force the U.S. to end unauthorized military cooperation with Israel in its invasion and occupation of Lebanon. "Our country should not be assisting or supporting indiscriminate bombings and forced displacement anywhere, including Lebanon," Rep. Tlaib said.⁵

As in Gaza, if the U.S. fails to act, Israel will continue killing and displacing people, destroying the homes of so many families, and unleashing another genocide.
