Tell Speaker Jeffries to reverse decision to appoint pro-Israel hawk to Middle East policy leadership role!
Petition to Speaker Hakeem Jeffries and Ranking Member of House Foreign Affairs Committee Rep. Gregory Meeks:
We urge you to reverse your decision to name Rep. Jared Moskowitz as ranking member of the House Foreign Affairs Middle East and North Africa Subcommittee and ensure he is not elevated to chair should Democrats take the House next Congress.
Rep. Moskowitz's voting record and public statements show that he holds policy positions on Israel, Iran, and Gaza that are wholly out of step with Democratic voters. The American people want to end unconditional aid to Israel and enact policies that will bring an end to Israel's atrocities against the Palestinian people.
House Democrats named a hardline pro-Israel hawk, Rep. Jared Moskowitz, to be the lead Democrat on the Foreign Affairs Middle East and North Africa subcommittee.1 The position is key for setting Israel policy in the House.
Rep. Moskowitz has consistently opposed placing conditions on military aid to Israel. He called an Iran war powers resolution to end Trump's war the "Ayatollah Protection Act."2
Speaker Hakeem Jeffries and House Foreign Affairs ranking member Rep. Gregory Meeks made this disgraceful decision despite an overwhelming majority of Democratic voters opposing more U.S. support for Israel.3 If we pressure Democratic leadership, there's a chance they could reverse this reckless decision.

After his appointment, Rep. Moskowitz pledged to strengthen America's relationship with Israel.4
Poll after poll shows that voters oppose more U.S. support for Israel. A recent Demand Progress poll shows that a clear majority of Democratic voters think Israel has too much influence over U.S. foreign policy.
A whopping 70 percent of Democrats say that President Donald Trump is providing too much support to the Israeli government.5 Only 16% of Americans support unconditional aid to Israel.6
As Israel commits horrific atrocities in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon, and Democratic voters stake out a clear position opposing support for the Israeli military, Speaker Jeffries's appointment of Rep. Moskowitz is political malpractice AND signals the continuation of U.S. government support for Israel's genocidal violence.
