Elon Musk and other billionaire CEOs have too much power. Tax the ultra-wealthy!
Petition to Congress:
We urge you to pass legislation to raise taxes on the ultra-wealthy and corporations.
Last week, the United Auto Workers of America (UAW) filed federal labor charges against Donald Trump and Elon Musk for threatening workers who go on strike.1
In an interview on Twitter between the two billionaires, Trump praised Musk’s anti-union stances, particularly lauding Tesla’s dismissal of striking workers. In response, the UAW filed charges to protect workers from Trump and Musk’s attacks on the federally protected right to strike.2
Musk has been able to amass so much power in the corporate world and our political system because of America’s massive tax breaks and loopholes for billionaires. A critical way for Congress to take some of that power back for the people and the workers of America is by raising taxes on the ultra-wealthy.

In addition to threatening workers, Musk is also funding a right-wing super PAC3 to gain even more influence over our politics.
When a few billionaires can manipulate our political system, it threatens our democracy.
After SpaceX workers circulated an open letter late last year criticizing Musk for, among other things, “issuing inappropriate, disparaging, sexually charged comments on Twitter,” Musk fired them, which is illegal under the National Labor Relations Act. Then he called the NLRB, the federal agency in charge of enforcing labor law and protecting workers from abusive employers, “the very definition of tyranny."4
Musk has so much power because of the outrageous wealth he’s acquired. Congress must rein in Musk by raising taxes on the ultra-wealthy and corporations.
