    Oppose U.S. war with Iran!

    Petition to Congress:
    We urge you to use your war powers to stop any U.S. military action against Iran.

    More than 250 people are dead in Iran and Israel after Israel launched a missile attack on Tehran late last week.1 The Netanyahu regime’s act of aggression has led to an escalating war between Israel and Iran, and Trump is ratcheting up tensions with dangerous rhetoric targeting Iran.2

    Sen. Bernie Sanders and many others are leading the charge in Congress to stop U.S. involvement in war with Iran. Bernie said clearly that, “the U.S. must not be dragged into Netanyahu’s war against Iran.”3

    Sen. Tim Kaine introduced a War Powers resolution in the Senate and Rep. Ro Khanna is leading a bipartisan resolution in the House, so Congress can force a vote to prevent U.S. involvement in war with Iran.4 Our leaders must stand up for peace, diplomacy, and deescalation.

    Bernie expanded on the urgency of Congress holding firm against war with Iran, saying there can be no offensive use of military force under the U.S. Constitution without an act of Congress, and that the House and Senate must oppose any American involvement in Netanyahu’s aggression against Iran.5

    Upon introducing his resolution, Sen. Kaine said, “I am deeply concerned that the recent escalation of hostilities between Israel and Iran could quickly pull the United States into another endless conflict.”6

    Israel’s attack last week killed scores of civilians as well as Iran’s top diplomatic negotiator, days before Iran and the U.S. were set to meet to discuss a deal relating to Iran’s nuclear program.7

    Netanyahu has sabotaged diplomatic efforts in Gaza and now in U.S. negotiations with Iran. Our leaders can’t allow his commitment to violence drag the U.S. into another war.
