Tell the House and Senate to block Trump’s war on Venezuela
Petition to Congress:
We urge you to pass a war powers resolution to end the U.S. invasion of Venezuela.
Trump is using the U.S. military to illegally bomb countries, threaten allies, and destabilize the entire world. This week, he seized yet another Venezuelan oil tanker.1 And he posted an altered image to show U.S. flags flying over Venezuela, Greenland, and Canada.2
The U.S. military is not for the personal far-right whims and crusades of the president.
After immense pressure from the White House, the Senate fell just one vote short of passing a war powers resolution last week. But the fight continues with a vote in the U.S. House TODAY. Congress must reassert its constitutional authority over Trump's war on Venezuela.
Sign the petition: Pass a war powers resolution to stop Trump's war on Venezuela!
After introducing the latest House War Powers Resolution, Rep. Joaquin Castro said, "The president has dragged the country into an illegal war with Venezuela. We know this war is not about protecting democracy or the security of the American people. It's about oil and land."3
Rep. Jim McGovern strongly supports the resolution and called Trump's invasion of Venezuela a "war on behalf of the oil lobby."4
Lawmakers must show Trump that Congress won’t stand for belligerent escalations across the globe. The U.S. House can vote today to protect the Constitution and check the power of a reckless strongman who is putting us all in danger.
Sign the petition: Urge Congress to pass a war powers resolution TODAY to end Trump's military actions in Venezuela.
