Tell Congress to cut Pentagon waste in government funding bills!

    Petition to Congress:
We urge you to stop Pentagon waste in government funding bills. The Defense Department has failed six audits in a row.

The U.S. invests more in the military than in any social programs — like Medicare — by a longshot. But how is that money used? Where does it go? The answer is: we don’t know.

That’s because for the SIXTH year in a row, the Department of Defense failed its audit.1 The Pentagon can’t account for nearly half its budget — a staggering $1.9 trillion dollars. And defense contractors like Lockheed Martin and Boeing are price gouging the federal government, pulling in obscene profits and adding to wasteful Pentagon spending.

Sign the petition: Urge Congress to cut Pentagon waste in government funding bills NOW!

In 2021, over 70% of Lockheed Martin’s net sales came directly from the federal government while their tax rate plummeted thanks to shady GOP-backed tax legislation, all while price gouging for as much taxpayer money as the giant defense contractor could get.2

Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont says of the consistent wasteful military spending: “As a nation, the time is long overdue for fundamental changes to our national priorities. Cutting military spending is a good first step.”3

Americans need more investments in climate action, Medicare, Social Security, healthcare, and public education. Meanwhile, most lawmakers never have a problem rubber-stamping the bloated, wasteful Defense budget. That must change.

Add your name: Congress, it’s time to put an end to wasteful Pentagon spending and Lockheed Martin’s price gouging!
