Block Trump's unprecedented attack on America's national parks and forests

    Petition to Congress:
We urge you to speak out and stop the Trump administration from rolling back the Roadless Rule. We urge you to protect parks funding, restore staffing levels so that parks are no longer understaffed, and stop the administration's move to centralize control over national parks, which would weaken the Park Service's ability to serve the public.

For over 100 years, there was a bipartisan consensus to preserve national parks like Yellowstone and Yosemite. That all changed in Trump's second term.

Trump took $323 million from the U.S. Parks Service to fund his authoritarian White House vanity projects, and spent another $100 million on remodeling the National Mall in D.C.1 He blocked funding for critical parks projects and gutted staffing that kept our cherished national parks running.

His latest attacks include a new plan to seize control of national parks operations, sell off part of Yosemite to a developer, and repeal federal protections for 45 acres of national forests, including lands surrounding Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Yosemite, and other national parks.2,3,4

Trump wasted money on covering four D.C. statues in gold while denying funds to increase fire preparedness at California's most visited parks. He printed his own face on park passes while gutting the park service so that at least 20% of national park locations are understaffed.5,6

Now Trump's plan to roll back the "Roadless Rule," a decades-old federal regulation that has protected tens of millions of acres of national forests, directly threatens the wildlife and environment surrounding national parks. It's a clear giveaway to corporate developers and loggers.

Congress must act now to protect national forests from destruction at the hands of corporate profiteers and the White House.
