The most powerful Republicans in the U.S. House are already discussing plans to cut entitlement programs like Medicare and Social Security if they take power — that includes GOP House leader Kevin McCarthy.³

Bloomberg News reports that finding ways to shrink Medicare and Social Security is a TOP priority for key Republicans in the House.⁴ GOP Senators like Rick Scott and Ron Johnson have taken direct aim at weakening the safety net programs.⁵

We can’t allow the GOP to gut the social safety net in America. And we know we can’t take it for granted — we’ve seen the rights and programs that have been taken away from us already. Seniors rely on Medicare and Social Security, and we as a country rely on these programs for our families, friends, and neighbors.
