Protect Social Security offices!
Petition to Social Security Commissioner Frank Bisignano:
We are alarmed to hear that the Social Security Administration is planning to close Social Security field offices. We urge you to reverse the staffing cuts made earlier this year, restore Social Security’s world-class service, and then resign.
A Social Security Administration (SSA) employee warned that Trump appears “to be quietly killing field offices.” New internal documents confirm the White House’s plans to shutter Social Security offices, and drive 15 million people away from in-person service, and onto their AI-powered phone system.1
The move comes on the heels of a year of destruction at the SSA, including the massive cuts at the hands of Elon Musk and DOGE that sent wait times soaring.
This administration’s plan has been clear from the jump: make it more and more frustrating to access Social Security benefits, then use the chaos to privatize the system and hand the $2.7 trillion trust fund to Wall Street speculators. Trump and his corrupt SSA commissioner Frank Bisignano are behind it all.
Sign the petition: Demand that Trump’s SSA commissioner Frank Bisignano stops his cuts to Social Security!
Bisignano told workers at SSA that he literally had to look up Social Security when Trump offered him the job―and now he’s leading the charge to dismantle the system entirely.
Bisignano is under investigation for exaggerating financial projections during his time as CEO of Fiserv. Bisignano dumped his Fiserv stock and made a jump to the Social Security Administration before his faulty accounting was revealed, sending the stock tumbling.
More than 10,000 people apply for Social Security every day. We should be making that process easier for them, not harder. But Trump and Bisignano are doing everything they can to gut the agency, cut benefits, and make service as slow as possible. It must stop NOW.
Sign the petition: Stop destroying our Social Security system! Frank Bisignano must resign.
