Stop Trump’s extreme judicial nomination — reject Emil Bove!

    Petition to the U.S. Senate:
We urge you to oppose the nomination of Emil Bove for the U.S. Court of Appeals.

Last week, the U.S. Senate advanced Trump's most dangerous judicial nomination ever.1 With a close 50 — 48 vote, Emil Bove is a big step closer to a lifetime on the federal bench, where he'll do Trump's bidding no matter what.

Bove was involved in the mass firing of prosecutors who worked on January 6 cases.2 He directed DOJ lawyers to defy federal court orders, according to multiple whistleblowers.3 Bove is so dangerous that two GOP Senators voted against advancing his nomination. Sen. Susan Collins said Bove “would not serve as an impartial jurist.”4

Bove is so unqualified and dangerous that he’s broken the partisan gridlock in Congress. If just two more Republican Senators vote to reject Bove, Trump won’t get his loyalist and former personal lawyer on the federal judiciary for life.

Republican Senators Collins and Murkowski joined Democrats in voting to stop Bove’s nomination after over 75 former judges urged the Senate to reject Trump’s crony. The judges wrote in a letter that “Mr. Bove’s egregious record of mistreating law enforcement officers, abusing power, and disregarding the law itself disqualifies him for this position.”5

Bove even refused to rule out a 3rd Trump term.6

It’s clear that Bove would rubber-stamp all of Trump’s authoritarian policies, no matter what the rule of law or Constitution says. Trump is marching forward in his quest to fill the federal government with loyalists committed to his illegal actions and ambitions. The Senate must stop Bove and stand up for democracy.
