    Block Trump's authoritarian election policies. Protect mail voting and stop the SAVE Act!

    Petition to Congress:
    We urge you to reject all versions of the SAVE America Act, the SAVE Act, and other voter suppression measures. These policies are a threat to our voting rights and our democracy. You must protect mail voting and state voter data, with measures including the Absentee and Mail Voter Protection Act.

    The Department of Justice sent alarming letters to states this week that threaten to arrest election officials who refuse to implement Trump's authoritarian election orders.1

    Trump is trying to seize state voter data — driven by his baseless conspiracies about voter fraud. Now, he says he'll levy criminal charges and withhold funding to states who don't comply with his unconstitutional demands.2,3 In another shocking move, he just fired key independent officials who help administer federal elections.4

    Trump's top priority is to undermine our democratic elections. That's why he's holding Congress hostage until lawmakers pass his extreme voter ID law — the SAVE America Act. Speaker Johnson is working overtime to pass it. Congress must make it their top priority to combat Trump's plot to rig the midterms.

    The SAVE America Act is the most extreme voter suppression bill in modern history. It would effectively disenfranchise tens of millions of people just before the midterms AND create severe obstacles to register to vote.5

    Trump even refused to sign a bipartisan housing bill in protest over Congress refusing to pass the SAVE America Act. He also sent a warning to elected officials who vote against it. "THE SAVE AMERICA ACT’S non-passage is CRAZY, and a serious threat to any politician who votes against it!" Trump said.6

    "The overall point is that Trump is trying to use whatever levers of power and persuasive power that he might have to try to interfere with how states and localities are going to conduct the 2026 election," said one legal expert.7
