President Biden joined the chorus of DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency) critics recently, saying Trump and Musk were taking a “hatchet” to Social Security.¹

As Musk and DOGE fire Social Security workers, close field offices, and shut down phone lines, millions of beneficiaries are worried about the income they need every month. The chaos doesn’t stop there — DOGE is now using lies about Social Security data to fear-monger about voter fraud. This is an extreme right-wing takeover of our government and our democracy.

Congress must stand up for the 73 million people receiving Social Security and take on the richest man in the world’s attempt to destroy the program.

Despite Trump’s assurances that he won’t touch Social Security, he’s backing Musk’s unfounded, reckless, dangerous hunt for so-called widespread fraud in the benefits program.²

DOGE has even been trying to circumvent court orders and gain access to the private information of millions of people.³ DOGE is using this data to form ridiculous lines of propaganda that put government programs in serious jeopardy.

Former Social Security officials are warning about delayed Social Security checks and a Musk “blueprint” to destroy the program from the inside.⁴ This is an emergency for tens of millions of Americans. Congress must stop DOGE’s drive to end Social Security.
