Stop Ted Cruz’s bill to criminalize No Kings organizers
Petition to Congress:
We urge you to oppose the Stop FUNDERs Act, a dangerous piece of legislation that would criminalize dissent and take away our First Amendment rights.
Trump, Pam Bondi, Kash Patel, and Stephen Miller are mobilizing the full power of the federal government to persecute the people who oppose their far-right regime.
The White House is trying to create its own laws with executive memos like NSPM-7, which ramps up the administration’s prosecution of political opponents. The DOJ is even compiling a broad, secret list of political enemies and calling them “domestic terrorists.”1
And now, as we begin planning the next No Kings protests, Ted Cruz is pushing a bill to criminalize No Kings organizers.2 The legislation is backed by Kash Patel and MAGA extremists who want to crush anti-Trump dissent.3

NSPM-7, also called “Countering Domestic Terrorism and Organized Political Violence,” allows the Trump regime to persecute anyone it determines to hold “anti-American” beliefs or “extreme” views on topics like race, gender, “American values,” or immigration.4 And at least one U.S. commander wouldn’t rule out using military force against people in America who Trump and Bondi label as their enemies.5
Cruz’s dangerous bill (the “Stop FUNDERs Act”) would further bolster these White House attacks on the First Amendment. It would increase Trump’s power to target anyone who shows up to protests or even expresses a dissenting opinion. Congress must stop this unconstitutional attack on the First Amendment and prevent MAGA officials from criminalizing protest.
