Stop Trump’s military takeover of U.S. cities!
Petition to Congress:
We urge you to stop the White House’s domestic military deployments and protect people across the country from a military takeover.
From the very beginning of the White House’s D.C. military and police takeover, Trump said he was using it as a “model” for military action in cities across the country.1
Trump’s inflammatory rhetoric and threats against Chicago included a disturbing meme post saying the city “will find out why it’s called the Department of WAR.”2
As Chicago leaders and communities brace for Trump’s troop deployment, a military advance team has already arrived in the city.3 Brutal Trump border czar, Tom Homan, warned that cities should “expect action” and that the military is a “force multiplier” for ICE.4
Congress must take real action to end this administration’s nightmarish military takeover before it spreads and becomes permanent.
Sign the petition: End Trump’s military takeover in D.C. and stop him from using it as a “model” for Chicago, Baltimore, and other cities.
Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker said, "The President of the United States is threatening to go to war with an American city." Thousands of people marched through Chicago in protest of Trump’s intimidation.5
One protester in D.C. told PBS, “I’m legal in this country, but still I’m scared because I have a Latino face. I feel we don’t have any rights in this country anymore.”6
Trump’s deployment of U.S. armed forces on the streets of America is ruining lives, destabilizing communities, and forcing so many to hide in their homes. This is the terror he wants to export to Democratic-led cities like Chicago and Baltimore. Congress must stop him.
