    Block U.S. military support for Israel's atrocities in Lebanon

    Petition to Congress:
    We urge you to co-sponsor and vote to support a war powers resolution to prevent U.S. military involvement in Israel’s war in Lebanon.

    Israel's war on Lebanon is beginning to resemble the genocidal campaign that Israel has committed for over two years in Gaza. "We are witnessing the same genocidal playbook used against Palestinians in Gaza, now in Lebanon," said Representative Rashida Tlaib.1

    Israel is relentlessly bombing Lebanon, killing and injuring thousands, and displacing over 1 million people. Israel has launched a ground invasion and is vowing to occupy southern Lebanon and demolish the homes of 600,000 people.2,3

    Rep. Tlaib introduced an urgent war powers resolution last week to prevent any U.S. support for this horrific war.

    As Israel expanded its ground invasion in Lebanon and bombed residential buildings in Beirut, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said the "Gaza model must not be replicated in Lebanon."4

    Rep. Tlaib’s war powers resolution would require the removal of all U.S. military forces from any hostilities in Lebanon, including involvement in targeting assistance and intelligence sharing for Israel’s onslaught. "We must act now to stop this campaign of ethnic cleansing," Rep. Tlaib said.5

    Congress must act now and take this first step to end Israel's attacks on Lebanon and the wider U.S.-Israeli war of aggression in the Middle East.
