Block Trump's $1.7 billion slush fund for election deniers and insurrectionists

    Petition to Congress:
We urge you to block the creation of the $1.7 billion so-called "anti-weaponization fund." The result of Trump's weak $10 billion lawsuit against his own government is a disgrace. It's brazen corruption in order to reward the president's allies.

Trump filed a frivolous $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS, an unprecedented move by a U.S. president. He just settled the lawsuit against his own government so the DOJ would set up a $1.7 billion so-called "anti-weaponization fund" that will hand taxpayer dollars over to Trump allies, including the January 6 insurrectionists that Trump pardoned.1

Members of the House Democratic caucus said the agreement created a "$1.7 billion slush fund to reward allies, including the nearly 1,600 defendants convicted or charged in connection with the January 6th attack on the Capitol."2

Trump is the one weaponizing his position of power to gut the rule of law, reward MAGA allies, and enrich himself. Lawmakers in Congress are trying to stop this corrupt deal, but it will take an overwhelming advocacy push to derail Trump's slush fund.

If Trump gets his way, our tax dollars will go directly into the pockets of Trump’s closest allies. One advocacy group called it, "one of the single most corrupt acts in American history."3

A litigation task force led by House Democrats filed a motion to stop the creation of the "anti-weaponization fund." Rep. Jamie Raskin called Trump's settlement "pure fraud and highway robbery."

Congress must reject Trump's brazen $1.7 billion fraud on the American taxpayer.
