Stop Trump's $50 billion tax on nonprofits!

We urge you to oppose language in the House budget bill that creates a new $50 billion tax on nonprofit organizations.
Republicans have ramped up attacks on the social safety net and nonprofits since Trump took office for his second term. GOP extremists are seeking to take essential government services away from the people and hobble the organizations that oppose Trump’s agenda.
We’ve seen how Trump persecutes the people and organizations he disagrees with to suppress political dissent. A $50 billion tax on nonprofits is the latest example of these targeted attacks.1
The Senate must oppose Trump’s bullying and protect nonprofits from this massive tax, which comes in a bill that hands corporations and the ultra-rich a giant tax cut.

This $50 billion tax buried in Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” goes after civil society groups doing charitable work, punishes nonprofits for offering basic employee benefits, and tightens financial screws on organizations that serve our communities every day.
If this proposal is passed in the Republican budget bill, Trump will become more powerful and the organizations providing health care to communities across the country, protecting our civil liberties and democracy, and much more will struggle to keep up their work.
The Senate needs to hear from their constituents on this provision — they need to know that the American people won’t stand by while our civil society and social safety net is dismantled piece by piece.
