    Investigate UnitedHealth care denials!

Petition to the Federal Trade Commission:
We urge you to investigate UnitedHealth’s use of AI in denying care to patients.

UnitedHealth is the largest health insurer in the United States. And it may be using AI to cut corners and deny care to patients.

A recent lawsuit alleges that UnitedHealth is using deeply flawed AI algorithms to override doctors' judgments and wrongfully deny critical health coverage to elderly patients.1

Use of algorithms to deny claims has been going on for years. And because of these care denials, corporate executives increase profits, while people get sicker. This is not how America’s health care system should work and the government must make sure this practice ends.

Sign the petition: Urge the Federal Trade Commission to investigate UnitedHealth’s use of AI in care denials.

UnitedHealth’s corporate greed and level of market control leads to higher insurance prices and worse patient outcomes. Just one example of that is its use of an algorithm to expedite the process of denying care to people in serious need of procedures, treatments, and more, while supercharging their corporate greed.

It’s bad enough that a big corporation can decide to deny people health care in America. It’s almost unconscionable that there may be no humans involved in rejecting the decisions made by people and their doctors. This is a broken system motivated by profit, not one driven by patient needs.

If we want to see patients treated better, the government needs to step in now and take action to stop algorithms from controlling health care decisions.

Add your name: The Federal Trade Commission must investigate these shady UnitedHealth care denials.
