Support UPS Teamsters!
Petition to Congress:
If you haven’t already pledged your public support, we urge you to back the UPS Teamsters request for non-interference by the federal government if there’s a UPS strike on August 1.
UPS workers are on the precipice of a strike, because UPS executives won’t provide fair wages and benefits to 340,000 UPS Teamsters.1
UPS Teamsters keep the economy moving, even risking their health and safety to deliver the nation’s packages during the height of the pandemic, and are responsible for UPS’s billions in annual profits. It’s time workers get their fair share. It’s time for greedy corporate executives to pay up.
The strike could start on August 1st, in less than two weeks. One way we can show solidarity with UPS workers right now is to urge members of Congress to back the Teamsters’ call for non-interference from the federal government with their right to withhold labor.2 At a time when runaway greed at UPS and other big companies has allowed mega-corporations to consolidate power, the government must not restrain the freedom of collective worker action.
Sign the petition to the Congress: Commit your support behind calls for the federal government to stay out of the fight between workers and UPS management — let the power of labor be heard!
UPS’s soaring profits are driven — and sorted, loaded, and delivered — by hardworking Teamsters. UPS executives should be investing in workers instead of spending $8.6 billion in stock buybacks (like UPS did in 2022) and $45.8 million on paying their own inflated salaries (like UPS execs did last year). Workers want a fair, living wage and benefits, and UPS management can find that and more in its $100 billion in revenue in 2022.
This is not just about UPS. It’s about taking a stand for what the future of work will look like for millions of people across the American economy. What happens in these contract negotiations, and potential strike, will show the power that workers have when they organize together. And the Teamsters are asking the federal government to stay out of the fight between management and labor.
Add your name: Urge members of Congress to back Teamsters and their call to keep the federal government away from interfering in a potential strike.
