Condemn Senators who failed to support an end to Trump’s invasion of Venezuela
Petition to U.S. Senators who voted against the Venezuela War Powers Resolution:
I am deeply disappointed in your vote against the War Powers Resolution on Venezuela. The American people do not want another endless war. We urge you to use your constitutional powers and stop military action against Venezuela and other countries that Trump has directly threatened, like Denmark.
Despite Trump's military invasion of Venezuela and the kidnapping of a sitting head of state, President Nicolas Maduro, Sens. Young and Banks voted with the slimmest majority possible to again allow Trump's lawless military aggression to continue.1
Because of Sens. Young and Banks's vote, Trump is now emboldened to continue military actions against Venezuela and launch strikes against other countries he has directly threatened — Denmark, Iran, Cuba, Mexico, and Colombia.
It's vital that Senators know that we condemn their vote. We must continue building pressure and flip just one Senator to reassert congressional war authority over Trump.
Hold your lawmaker accountable: Tell Sens. Young and Banks that you condemn their failure to check Trump's war powers in Venezuela.
Speaking about the vote, Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer said, “What happened tonight is a roadmap to another endless war.”2 And not just endless war in Venezuela.
Trump is ramping up threats against Iran, Greenland, Mexico, Cuba, Colombia, and other countries — the same kinds of threats that led to the U.S. invasion of Venezuela. Trump is ready to attack allies, conduct airstrikes on more countries, and throw the world into chaos.
The resolution was essential to send a clear message to Trump saying: No endless war in Venezuela and no more unauthorized military aggression! The American people don't want another endless war.
It's critical that we show Sens. Young and Banks that we demand an end to Trump's military actions in Venezuela and across the globe.
Sign the petition: Tell Sens. Young and Banks that we condemn their vote in favor of total war authority for Trump.
