Block Trump's warrantless spying on Americans before the April 30 deadline!
Petition to Congress:
We urge you to oppose any bill to reauthorize FISA surveillance unless it closes the data broker and backdoor search loopholes.
Trump tried to ram through an extension of his administration's warrantless surveillance of Americans, but a bipartisan coalition in the House just stopped him.1
Speaker Johnson brought the measure to a vote after midnight on Friday and it failed because lawmakers are demanding reforms to warrantless government spying before reauthorizing Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).2
But the fight isn’t over yet. Congress delayed the final FISA deadline until April 30, which means we have 10 more days to ensure our lawmakers pass critical privacy reforms and end the Trump administration's domestic surveillance abuses.

Voters and lawmakers across the political spectrum support protecting Americans' privacy and personal data from government surveillance. Throughout this legislative fight, Demand Progress has led the way to protect the civil liberties enshrined in the U.S. Constitution.
With the new deadline looming, it's critical that we ramp up the pressure on members of Congress to follow through with reforms as Trump and Johnson get more desperate.
